CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Work on the Ayers Street project is kicking off Tuesday.
Crews will begin reconstructing and widening the existing four lane road and turn it into five lanes with a turn lane.
ADA compliant ramps and sidewalks will also be added.
The sidewalks will extend all the way to the RTA bus stop at the Port/Ayers shopping center.
The first phase of the project will require several lane closures along Ayers from SPID all the way to Gollihar Road.
