Now that summer break is here, a lot of people will be spending more time at area beaches.
But as recent drownings have shown us, those waters can be dangerous.
So where do lifeguards come in?
The areas where city lifeguards do and don’t operate have everything to do with whether or not the area is city property.
Lifeguards do not work at beaches that are considered state or national parks.
We’ll speak with city beach lifeguards about their processes and what this means for you and your family’s safety when you’re out at the beach.
