A  tropical area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico will bring numerous thundershowers to the region beginning on Tuesday and lasting until Thursday. This system in the Bay of Campeche will move north along the Mexican coast and drift north across the Texas coast. There is some possibility of development into a tropical system, but it will depend on it’s proximity to land. Expect heavy rains from 1 – 3 inches by mid week. The system will move out by Thursday and that will be followed by a heat wave with highs into the mid 90’s by weekend.

Today: Mostly sunny and hot. Increasing cloudy later. High 90.

Tonight: Turning cloud with a few showers. Low 80.

Tuesday: Numerous showers and thundershowers moving north. High 90.

Wednesday: Numerous tropical showers. Expected heavy rain. High 89.

Thursday: Showers decreasing. Partly cloudy and warmer High 91.

Friday: Partly cloudy and very hot. High 95.
