SAN ANTONIO – Organizers of the 2019 Barbacoa & Big Red Festival in San Antonio announced they collected more than 600 knives, stun guns and other weapons during Sunday’s final day of the annual festival.

“Safety for our patrons is our number one priority. We are very proud to say that not a single altercation or arrest occurred at our festival,” the festival’s Facebook page reported.

Thank you San Antonio! You all made this the biggest Barbacoa and Big Red Festival to date! We always value and welcome…

Organizers also reported they notched the biggest turnout in history for this year’s event, the ninth in its history.

More than 200 vendors and 22 bands performed at the annual event.

But does that large number of confiscated weapons make spectators more wary about attending live events?
