According to the business website The Manifest, three-quarters of local businesses use social media platforms to promote their brand.
KRIS 6 spoke with social media strategist Lauren Underwood on the use of social media as a local business.
“It’s a really great tool to kind of get to know your customer, let them get to know you,” Underwood says.
She says the top three reasons small businesses do not use social media include 1) they don’t have the time, 2) they don’t know how, and 3) they don’t like it.
Underwood says that if a small business should be consistent with posting if it is just getting started. She also advises to find a voice that fits the brand, not be too casual but something that matches with the product. And take good pictures!
