We’ve received several calls and messages from concerned parents after a student was hit by a car in a crosswalk near Hamlin Middle School on Friday afternoon.
One parent we spoke with was picking up his daughter from Hamlin around 4 p.m. Friday when he saw a truck hit a student who was *in the crosswalk.”
He said fight or flight instincts kicked in and he followed that driver while on the phone with police for about three miles.
Police did arrest that driver, but parents are still concerned.
We’ll speak with CCISD police chief Kirby Warnke about the district’s crossing guard policy – as well as parents who witnessed that incident.
We’ll have more information later today on KRIS 6 News.
