Corpus Christi residents and those across South Texas call them cascarones.

Vendors again this year are selling them all over the area along with the season popular Easter bunny piñatas and flower baskets.

KRIS 6 News caught up with one vendor whose family has been selling the eggs for 28 years.

“The meaning is its comeback to the church meaning but a lot of people buy the cascarone. For what reason I don’t know,” said cascarone vendor Guadalupe Baltierra. “Somebody … they keep coming back for them.”

Baltierra’s family will be selling these popular confetti eggs all day Saturday in the 3400 block of Ayers.
