The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is investigating a spate of recent complaints about the smell and taste of Corpus Christi tap water.

On Tuesday, a city spokesperson told us our water quality was in compliance and that odor issues happen from time to time.

But we are continuing to get complaints from nearly residents about the bad taste and smell of their tap water.

Residents tell us that just within the past few days, there’s been an earthy smell to their water and it also doesn’t taste right.

Now that the TCEQ is looking into those complaints, we want to hear from the city water department.

I’ll let you know what they say about this state investigation and the citizens’ complaints.

That full story will appear tonight on KRIS 6 News.
