Jim Lago, the host of a popular morning show on KKTX radio, remains hospitalized this evening after suffering a medical emergency on his show Monday morning.
Former Congressman Blake Farenthold, one of Lago’s co-hosts, says that Jim was doing a phone interview when he suddenly had trouble speaking. He realized something was wrong and called 911 and Jim’s wife.
Lago was taken to the hospital, where doctors confirmed he had suffered a mild stroke.
They’re still running some tests, but it appears he will make a full recovery.
We spoke with Jim on the phone this afternoon. He says it may be a couple of weeks before he’s back to work.
He also said he appreciates everybody’s concerns and that he’d much rather be at work than at the hospital.
And Lago, you are certainly in our thoughts and we wish you a speedy recovery.
