Daniel King, the man who was shot and killed by base security at Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi, reportedly told his sister he believed the world was ending with the government shutdown.

King’s younger sister, Tikeitra King, says she had spoken with her brother just a couple of days before the incident. After that discussion, she knew something wasn’t right with him.

Tikeitra King says that her brother feared for his life and went to NAS-CC seeking help.

King’s sister adds she doesn’t know if he was on any type of drug, but she says the person who crashed last week  was not her brother.

“I know for a fact that the reason why he was trying to get to the base was because he said that was the only people that would help him mentally,” she said.

“He was going through things he said he believed the world was kind of coming to an end with this government shutdown. So he wanted to go to the base to get help and to talk to somebody.”

His sister also says he did not have any military experience and that his family had warned him not to go onto the base because he didn’t have an identification card.

Tikeitra King says her brother’s first name is “Doniel.” Every police document since his death has him identified as “Daniel.”
