A Del Mar College professor has turned his passion for horns into a documentary.
It’s called “The Story of the Horn,” and it was made by Humanities professor Karl Kemm.
He’s fascinated with horns. A collection of them — from around the world — fill the walls of his office.
His documentary examines the various types of horns that people have used throughout history and why. It’s information that he hopes people will find interesting.
“We have a small audience that is interested, musicians and brass players,” Kemm said. “But my objective has been to make this interesting to people who just don’t know anything about it and otherwise wouldn’t care. I think that’s an interesting angle to have on this.”
Along the way, Kemm talks with some local experts you may recognize. It’s all really fascinating.
The documentary is called “The Story of the Horn.” It airs at 9:30 p.m. Friday on KEDT-TV.
