Today was prom day for a very special group of Moody High School students.

The school held its 16th annual “Special Hearts” Prom at the school.

It’s just for special needs students and it gives them a chance to do what all high school kids do and that’s going to their prom.

The 21 boys and 17 girls all were escorted by Moody seniors.

And our hats are off to all of them.

“They are giving them so much attention, making sure they dance, making sure they have a great time,” Moody assistant principal Cynthia Reyna said. “They want to make sure they’re (having fun) — the inclusion of wanting to be part of this campus — and that they’re no different than anybody else.”

The students were all dressed up in gowns and tuxedos donated by area businesses.

The boys got free haircuts and the girls also got free makeup and hair designs.

And there was also a cake donated by Janet’s Cakery.
