After the holidays, stores will be flooded by shoppers who may also be returning or exchanging gifts.
If you happen to be one of them, the Better Business Bureau warns that there are some things you need to be aware of.
One is making sure you know how long you have to return an item.
“If you were one of those people who had all that shopping done very early, you have to be aware that they may not give back the exact price for that exact item,” Kelly Trevino of the Corpus Christi Better Business Bureau said. “Especially if you don’t have the receipt.”
And remember, if you get a gift card, make sure the code on the back isn’t scratched off before you use it.
If it is, it could mean a scammer has already gotten the code and now has access to your money.
