The world’s first drive-in/dive-in theater opened with excitement for viewers at opening night at Schlitterbahn.

The  performances started on the water park’s 60-foot screen every Friday and Saturday through the end of the year. The first showing was “Coco,” as some fans even dressed up as characters in the show.

Tickets for the movies are $5 apiece. The theater features a concession bar with all of the goodies that can be found at movie theaters.

The adjacent pool for the theater won’t be filled in until the summer. Until then, viewers can watch the showings on lounge chairs around the screen. Friday’s movie will be “Back to the Future.”

Movies to be shown throughout the next few weeks will include “It’s A Wonderful Life,” “Elf,” “Christmas Vacation,” “Home Alone” and “White Christmas.”
