If you tend to get a heavy foot while driving or may have a need for speed, you may want to reconsider.
The Corpus Christi Police Department’s stealth car is still on the prowl for speeders, and now, its not alone. Another car was added in March 2018.
Since these units have been on the streets, officers have made over 1,600 traffic stops and issued over 870 speeding citations.
Speeders are not the only ones on the stealth units’ radar, however. Aggressive or distracted drivers are also a key focus of the new stealth fleet.
Officers need the public to be aware that driving while distracted is also very dangerous.
"When people are driving faster or at a higher rate of speed they don’t just put themselves in danger they are putting everyone else who’s on the roads in danger," Officer Robert Alvarado with the Corpus Christi Police Department explained.
