It’s become part of a new social media battle between law enforcement officers from around the state but according to some local Robstown officers it’s not new, in fact, they’ve been doing it for years now.

They’re back! Patrol officers Jordan Armstrong and Jimmie Zamora with the Robstown Police Department say they’ve accepted the challenge after two San Antonio area officers posted videos, lip-syncing in uniform.

Patrol Officer Zamora said family and friends kept tagging them in the other videos, "Saying may Y’all should make another one so we took that opportunity and just ran with it."

The video Officer Zamora is referring to was posted 3 years ago with more than a 1,000,000 views of he and his partner, Officer Armstrong lip-syncing to Adele’s "Hello".

Officer Armstrong says it all began with the Adele rendition after the two moved to different shifts within the department.

Officer Armstrong said, "I have to admit it, we do feel like we are the originators of the cop lip-sync we’ve made a few videos."

Regardless of who the original lip syncing officers are, Zamora and Armstrong say they’re happy to see the videos of all the officers going viral showing another side behind the badge.
