A Corpus Christi man is recovering after he was stabbed over the weekend.
Police were called out to a convenience store in the 6800 block of Everhart Road just before 6:00 am Saturday morning.
When police arrived, they say they found a man with stab wounds and he told officers he got into an argument with his significant other after receiving a text message. The victim told officers the argument escalated into a fight over a cell phone and he was stabbed by the suspect.
The victim was transported to a hospital as officers tried to locate the suspect inside a nearby apartment complex
Police later discovered the suspect sitting in her car and took her into custody.
Police say 25-year old Lechel Booker was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and family violence.
Officers added the male victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.
