It’s safe to say the Coastal Bend hopes for a quieter hurricane season this year, but many are taking steps to get a leg up on the next storm.
That was the goal of the Coastal Bend Storm Expo over at American Bank Center. There, visitors had access to resources to prepare for hurricanes and tropical storms while also having a chance to help those still picking up the pieces after Hurricane Harvey.
"A lot of communities are still recovering from that, but this gives them an opportunity to meet with folks from all different businesses that can help them with that recovery or help them get prepared moving forward," said Tracy Cantu, Assistant Director of Communications with the City of Corpus Christi.
The American Red Cross and Texas Windstorm Insurance Association were among agencies on-hand to answer questions.
