The internet has been flooded with cute pictures of kids first and last days of the school year and for one man, he may not be a student or teacher anymore but the first and last days for him are just as important to him.

His name is Ronald R. Remeuth. Mr. Remeuth taught at South Park Middle School for 44 years and goes back to those familiar hallways on the first and last days of school to greet students and check in on the teachers.

Mr. Remeuth said "I enjoy seeing them, it reminds me of the years I spent here and it’s almost like home."

Mr. Remeuth began teaching at South Park in 1959. He taught in the same classroom for 44 years, teaching subjects like History, Theater and Speech.

He’s become such a staple to the school, even the school’s gymnasium is named after him.

He then retired in 2003.

Mr. Remeuth says there’s 44 years worth of memories and he’s sad to see the old campus go after this upcoming year when the school will be torn down and students will move into a new building.
