The Texas Renaissance Festival has announced new, unique weekend themes for all nine weekends of the 2018 festival.
The nation’s largest Renaissance-themed event, this year’s Texas Renaissance Festival runs from September 29 to November 25 in Todd Mission, Texas, 50 miles northwest of downtown Houston.
Themes for this year’s festival are:
- Sept. 29 and 30: Opening Weekend, Oktoberfest Weekend
- Oct. 6 and 7: 1001 Dreams Weekend
- Oct. 13 and 14: Barbarian Invasion Weekend
- Oct. 20 and 21: Pirate Adventure Weekend
- Oct. 27 and 28: All Hallows’ Eve Weekend
- Nov. 3 and 4: Roman Bacchanal Weekend
- Nov. 10 and 11: Heroes and Villains Weekend
- Nov. 17 and 18: Highland Fling Weekend
- Nov. 23, 24, and 25: Celtic Christmas Weekend
In 2017, Texas Renaissance Festival says they saw its second highest attendance season, welcoming a total of 644,917 attendees, while facilitating 63 weddings, the most recorded in a single season.
Texas Renaissance Festival also saw a 14 percent increase in campers from the previous year, hosting 23,000 guests in the campgrounds.

Established in 1974, the event attracts over half a million visitors each year to its 55-acre recreation of a 16th Century European village. This immersive experience features world renowned live entertainment, works by master artists and craftspeople, award winning food and drink, hand-powered rides and games, and over 100 interactive characters during its nine themed weekends from Sept. 29 through Nov. 25, 2018.
