There was lots of excitement at the Gregory-Portland baseball complex Thursday afternoon, but there wasn’t a game. One player had a chance to step into the record books because of his feet

15-year-old Hunter Harrison is a freshman at G-P High School. He stands at about 6 feet, 3 inches, and those apply to him from head to toe.

"I have a size 18 shoe," Harrison says. He’s always been a big guy and his mother, Rhonda Harrison, has more numbers to back that up.

She says of her oldest son, "When he was born, he was right about 10 pounds and 23 inches long, so he was never a small child."

It was Rhonda and another of her sons who got the idea one night that Hunter’s feet could achieve another kind of *eat — a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. They joked that Hunter may have the biggest feet of any teenager. So, she measured them one night while Hunter was sleeping. Rhonda Harrison says she submitted her measurement to the Guinness officials, who she says told her that Hunter indeed had record-breaking feet.

The current record is 32.95 centimeters. On Thursday at the G-P Softball & Baseball Complex, Hunter’s feet officially measured at 33.1 centimeters.

The data will now be sent for official confirmation, and soon Hunter’s big feet and personality will likely have a place in history.
