CCPD cracks down on bad drivers on Corona Drive

Posted

Some drivers taking shortcuts through office parking lots are now having to pay a fine.

City crews have been working on Corona Drive between Flynn Parkway and Everhart Road. Since they turned it into a one way road, employees who work in the two office buildings on Flynn Parkway have been complaining about drivers taking shortcuts through their parking lots.

Someone sent the Corpus Christi Police Department’s Safe Roads Program an email letting them know about the problem. One of the building’s property managers also reached out to the Police Department. So, officers placed warning signs at those office buildings a few days ago.

On Tuesday around 7:30 a.m., two officers set up in that area. In just one hour, officers issued six tickets and towed one vehicle.

If you’d like to report aggressive or bad drivers on a specific roadway, send an email to Saferoadsforcc@cctexas.com.
