6 Investigates Follows-Up: Rockport woman still waits on FEMA

Tabatha Castro tells 6 Investigates she’s made history, as far as one FEMA agent is concerned – she’s the first survivor the agency ever promised assistance through their Direct Housing Program, only to yank it out from under her at the last minute.

"He said he (doesn’t) know what happened, that this has never happened to FEMA, before."  

Almost two months after introducing you to the Rockport woman, who now is living with her kids in her Dad’s two-bedroom trailer, and she’s still in the system, waiting.

Meanwhile, FEMA continues updating numbers via the "Recovery Tracker" portal, a data-driven site meant to give the community an idea of how much help, they’ve given, thus far.

For Castro, the numbers are of little importance, given her experience, so far.
