An Aransas County Grand Jury indicted Jeffrey Lance Null on a drug charge on February 8.
But, 6 Investigates has discovered a fatal flaw in Aransas County District Attorney Kristen Barnebey’s case: Null is dead. He died September 26, 2017.
Barnebey ignored our email asking how this might have happened, and has declined our request for an interview on this, and other matters.
But, other Aransas County officials tell while they’ve seen the deceased show up on jury lists, they can’t remember seeing them brought before a grand jury.
And, it matters: investigations, grand juries, warrants and court motions all come at taxpayer expense. Here’s the report:
