The man accused of killing his girlfriend Breanna Wood didn’t get his way.
On May 5th, attorneys for Joseph Tejeda asked that the district attorney be removed from his case because Assistant District Attorney Matthew Manning previously represented Tejeda in a burglary case. At the time, Manning worked as a defense attorney under Mark Gonzalez, who’s now district attorney. During a hearing Monday afternoon, Judge Jack Pulcher denied Tejeda’s request.
Breanna Wood’s family told KRIS 6 news they were happy about the ruling. Breanna’s mother, Fallon Wood, said,"I’m super excited. I have complete in Mark, our D.A. He’s fired up. He’s ready. We’re ready and now we’re coming."
Breanna Wood was missing for three month before her body was found in an abandoned home near Bluntzer.
