Murder suspect Joseph Matthew Tejeda appeared in the 105th District Court.
Tejeda was led into the courtroom Thursday morning and heard the charges he’s facing from Judge Jack Pulcher.
Also, present in the courtroom was newly appointed Nueces County District Attorney Mark Gonzalez.
Tejeda was given a court appointed attorney by the court and was led to a conference room to talk with his lawyer.
Tejeda grinned and made hand gestures to the media as he walked into the meeting room.
Tejeda is accused of shooting and killing 21-year old Breanna Wood back in the middle of October.
An arrest affidavit stated Tejeda had shot Breanna Wood in the 800 Block of Hancock Avenue.
