Houston Baptist has opened its three-game fall schedule after the FCS Southland Conference decided not to play league games. Even with expanded protocols and more costly virus testing, the Huskies moved forward with their remaining games. They lost 57-31 at North Texas in their opener. Athletic director Steve Moniaci says he feels they are doing the right thing playing, though he is still anxious about it. North Texas AD Wren Baker says he hasn't even thought about how many games his team might win. He says it feels like just having a season is a success. UNT has 11 games scheduled.
