MCLENNAN COUNTY, TEXAS — A woman was arrested and charged after police said she left her 18-month-old child alone in a car.
Waco police said on Tuesday shortly after 9:30 p.m., a caller reported that a child was left alone in a vehicle by herself at 2444 West Loop 340 at Tanfastic.
By the time officers arrived, the vehicle was gone.
Officers then went to the location where they believed Gabriella Ayisha Lazarine was and arrested her. She was then transported to the McLennan County Jail.
It was determined that she left her 18-month-old child in a locked and running vehicle for about 15 minutes. Lazarine was inside tanning for 12 minutes.
The child is now in the care of her father.
Lazarine was arrested and charged with abandoning a child with the intent to return.
Her bond is set at $3,000.
