CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Looking to spice up your weekend? If so, then you will definitely want to stop by the 5th Annual Corpus Christi Hot Tamale Fest!
Those who attend are guaranteed to have a great time celebrating all that makes South Texas amazing, including tamales, music, tamales, art...and more tamales!
This year, proceeds from the festival will benefit The Art Museum of South Texas (AMST) Youth Program Initiative: The Garcia Outreach Center.
AMST Educators offer off-site programming throughout the year at the Antonio E. Garcia Arts and Education Center, which is similar to the programming offered at the museum. In addition, a free of charge Arts After-School Program provides tutoring, art activities and mentoring during the school year.
This year's Tamale Festival is happening Saturday from Noon to 10 p.m. on Peoples Street in downtown.
As in past years, there will be tamal eating contests, with judges looking for the hottest and the best.
The festival is free to attend, but tickets will be sold for food and drinks from vendors.
