PORTLAND, Texas — A flu shot event for local veterans was held Saturday in Portland.
The event was staged by the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend. Organizers say the reasons these events are held during the weekends is to provide easier access for veterans who work during regular business hours.
“They are appreciative that we are doing this on the weekends, and going into the communities because it gives them an opportunity when they can’t make it in,” said Steven Timbs of the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend.
The next event will be next Saturday in Kingsville.
