CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The public is invited to lay an unaccompanied veteran to rest.
U.S. Navy Veteran Don Lesley Ward will be buried on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi.
An unaccompanied veteran burial is different from an accompanied veteran burial.
"Mr. Ward has no known next-of-kin and the public is invited to help us ensure that he is not buried alone. We do NOT leave Texas Veterans behind," the event page says.
