Local executive Chef celebrates National School Lunch Week

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — School cafeteria food hasn't always had the best reputation. But with the help of a Celebrity Chef, Montclair elementary raised it up a notch today.

The school and CCISD's office of food services invited Omni Hotel's executive chef Dean Sprague to show kids how to make a healthy snack.

The presentation was to celebrate National School Lunch week.

The dish of the day? A treat made with Texas grown watermelon.

Sprague's grandson, by the way, is a student at Montclair.
