CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — With Thanksgiving just around the corner, many are feeling thankful; especially those who received a free turkey courtesy of Thomas J. Henry.

There are many different ways to cook a thanksgiving turkey, but regardless of how it's prepared, everyone who received a free turkey from Thomas J. Henry felt grateful today.

The line started at Thomas J. Henry law offices and stretched through downtown.

Henry also went to Alice, Freer, and San Diego to help put food on thousands of Thanksgiving tables all across South Texas.

"What happens is you see that for every person getting a turkey, there's going to be a number of people around them, probably ten, twelve people are sharing in that thanksgiving dinner," Henry told us.

Being with family or friends on thanksgiving makes the holiday and the turkey even more special.

"Well basically I'm gonna have Thanksgiving at my house and invite my whole family and I'm cooking everything so it's gonna be a great time especially with a free turkey from Thomas J. Henry. It's greatly appreciated," said Jasmine Gonzales.

"I'm gonna go home, see my family, spend time with them, cook for them," said Christopher Irwin.

"Well actually I stay at the Salvation Army so I'm gonna donate it back to them," said Maria Alaniz.

Of course, the man in charge of it all is happy to give back to the community.

"I just have a real empathy for people that need help, and at Thanksgiving if someone can't eat or has difficulty, I mean that's where it comes from, my empathy for people," said Henry.

Thomas J. Henry has been giving away turkeys for more than 25 years.
