Taoist Tai Chi offering classes for beginners

and last updated

Anyone looking to add some kick to their summer will want to contact the Taoist Tai Chi Society in Corpus Christi. They are offering classes for beginners, starting Tuesday.

Those who practice Taoist Tai Chi arts believe that true health comes when body, mind and spirit work together in harmony. Through deep stretching movements which involve a full range of motion and a continuous turning of the spine, participants report developing bodies that are relaxed and strong at the deepest levels. Those who practice Tai Chi call it a “moving meditation” because of its calming effect on the mind.

A way to reduce stress and feel better? Those are just some of the health benefits the certified volunteer instructors of the Taoist Tai Chi Society hope to share.

There are seven classes beginning this week in four different locations:

Tuesdays:  9 -11 a.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church (3401 Santa Fe St.)
