After Data Privacy Day earlier this week, all of us should be determined to protect our assets when we shop online.
Kelly Trevino of the Corpus Christi office of the Better Business Bureau had some tips to share with Jessica Savage today.
These protection tips are important, considering that 300,000 complaints about online shopping were generated in 2017. That led to about $1.42 billion in losses. Even more sobering, Trevino said that Texas ranks fourth nationally among states with the most losses.
Some tips that she provides for safer online shopping include:
- Strong password
- When in doubt, throw it out
- Stay secure
- Understand virtual currency
- Shop smart
