The fall season has never looked better at the Rialto Theater (327 S. Commercial St. in Aransas Pass), with presentations by both the Rialto and other area theater groups starting on Friday night.

The stage lineup includes weekend performances of Men on Boats (Oct. 5-21 by the Aransas Repertory Theatre), Steel Magnolias (Nov. 2-18 by the Rockport Little Theatre) and It’s a Wonderful Life: A Radio Drama (Dec. 7-16 by the Rialto Theater).

Kicking off the season is Deathtrap, a vintage thriller/comedy written by Ira Levin.

One of the more popular successes in recent Broadway history, this ingeniously constructed play offers a rare and skillful blending of two priceless theatrical ingredients: gasp-inducing thrills and spontaneous laughter.

Dealing with the devious machinations of a writer of thrillers whose recent offerings have been flops, and who is prepared to go to any lengths to improve his fortunes, “Deathtrap” provides twists and turns and sudden shocks in such abundance that audiences will be held spellbound until the very last moment.

Deathtrap will run at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, Sept. 14, Sept. 15, Sept. 21 and Sept. 22.

You can also catch matinee performances at 2 p.m. Sunday and also on Sept. 16 and Sept. 23.

Tickets are $15 and $20, and are available online at www.rialtotheater.org or at the box office.
