It’s called "City Hall in the Mall," an event Corpus Christi city leaders first started in 2017. On Saturday, the second annual event saw officials and staff joining the community from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Over 50 city departments sent representatives to the event, who provided information about various services the city provides to residents. Among them, Chief of Police, Mike Markle.

"You need to remember why you do the work you do, and who you’re doing it for," Markle described. "That’s the big thing. And the community needs to remember that all your city employees are just community members themselves. So, yeah, we have to be tight, we have to be close."

The first 100 people to stop by got free goodie bags but everyone who attended got the chance to meet city council members, pick up a library card or play games with Parks and Recreation staff.
