Creativity was on full display in downtown Corpus Christi at the 2nd annual Texas Body Paint Festival.

Participants from across Texas took part in the main event, working to show-off their best designs painted on models in competition.

It happened over at House of Rock in downtown Corpus Christi starting at 6 a.m.

Under its theme "Fantastic Beasts, Real and Imagined," the artists put their best brush forward, and models walked the stage for a chance at a grand prize of $1,000.

"So, we’re going to have a whole bunch of different creatures walking the stage tonight. And that’s where we invite people to come see some amazing art. Because some of the artists are pros, they’re professionals, they do this for a living," explained Tony Martinez, the event’s coordinator.

Alongside the main event, there was also a kid-friendly portion of the festival earlier in the day at Bar Under the Sun, where kiddos could enjoy some face painting.
