CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Officers with the Corpus Christi police department are remembering the life of officers that lost their lives serving the community.

Their lives are being remembered during National Police Memorial Week. A series of interviews have been recorded and shared via their Facebook page by other officers who personally remembered their classmates, coworkers, and friends.

CCPD Police Chief Mike Markle says, "In Corpus Christi, we have lost 13 officers in our history who have given their lives in the line of duty."

An officer who recently lost his life serving the community was 46-year-old Alan McCollum. In a video posted Thursday morning, CCPD Officer Michael Love talked about his friend and partner.

Other officers also talked about their friends, discussing the life of Lt. Stuart Alexander and Corpus Christi Police Officer Matthew Thebeau.
