CORPUS CHRISTI – It’s going to be a stormy start to our Sunday here in the Coastal Bend. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued through 9 am for the entire area. This means we could see some gusty winds, large hail and even a few possible tornadoes. We can also expect a lot of lightning and brief heavy rainfall with some of these storms. Some areas will get between one and two inches of rain. Localized flooding will also be possible. Motorists should be very careful when getting out on the roadways this morning. The forecast for today calls for morning showers and thunderstorms with an afternoon high of 82 degrees. The winds will shift to the northeast at 10 to 15 miles per hour. The storms will give way to clearing skies late in the afternoon. The forecast for tonight calls for partly cloudy skies with an overnight low around 62 degrees.

It’s going to be a rather warm and tranquil weather pattern for much of the week ahead. We will see abundant sunshine with daytime highs in the mid to upper 80’s. The next front is likely going to cool us down a bit as we get closer to next weekend.
