Traditionally, cooking and baking are a joyful part of the holidays. The food is delicious, but don’t let the festivities get bogged down by a clogged drain.
The city is offering residents a free way to be sure there isn’t a holiday drain disaster this year.
Residents can pick up a free grease disposal container at three area HEB stores on Saturday, Dec. 15:
- HEB Plus on Saratoga
- HEB at 1145 Waldron Rd. in Flour Bluff
- HEB at 3033 South Port Ave.
The containers will be given away from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. and are available on a first come, first serve basis.
These containers will help residents properly dispose of food waste that contain fats, oils and greases (FOG). Dumping FOG down your drain can block wastewater lines resulting in costly repairs.
