The Oso Creek is expected to rise to 26.5 feet this afternoon, over 6 feet above flood stage, and residents along the banks are advised that water may be up to their doors soon.

The National Weather Service says recent and continuing rainfall will keep the Oso Creek above flood stage for a few days and the flood warning is in effect until further notice.

At 4:15 a.m., the creek was at 24.5 feet which is considered moderate flooding. Major flooding is forecast throughout the afternoon, with the creek rising to over 26 feet and then slowing falling, according to the NWS alert.

The 26.5 feet, the NWS said, residences in the lowest flood prone areas, above Farm to Market 763 to below the bridge at Farm to Market 763, will be cut off with water up to homes.
