CORPUS CHRISTI – According to meteor experts, expect to see an amazing visual meteor shower display this weekend.
According to Bill Cooke, who is a NASA meteor expert, the annual Perseid Meteor Shower will be visible Aug. 11-12 and Aug. 12-13.
This phenomenon happens when Earth passes through the trail of the comet Swift-Tuttle, which happens about this time every year.
Cooke said in an interview to space.com, “This year the moon will be near new moon, it will be a crescent, which means it will set before the Perseid show gets underway after midnight.”
