Corderro McMurry is a self-published author of his book, Can I Get a Copy?, Rocky Mountain Emmy award winning journalist. Corderro McMurry joined the KRIS 6 news team as a morning reporter in July 2020 and was born and raised in Phoenix, Ariz.
Corderro graduated from The University of Arizona (BEARDOWN!) in May 2014 where he majored in communications and minor in theater. Corderro did an internship at Walt Disney World for the Disney College Program. He also was a sports reporter for the student station called Wildcat News. After graduating HE worked for Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, California.
In August 2015, Corderro attended Northern Arizona University for his master’s degree. He taught public speaking, and an intro to social media course as a teaching assistant. While working on his graduate degree, Corderro hosted his own entertainment radio show, was a sports and news reporter and anchor for the student station, NAZ Today. Corderro interned at Time Warner Cable News (Spectrum News) in Austin in August 2016. While finishing up his Master’s degree, Corderro was published in Cosmopolitan for his paper on Khloé Kardashian.
Corderro worked at Northern Arizona’s professional station, NAU-TV starting in July 2017 for two years where he won a Rocky Mountain Emmy award for producing a commercial called The Lumberjack Life. Graduating with his master’s degree in December 2018, Corderro went viral worldwide for his thesis on entertainment news with the focus on Kim Kardashian West, who asked for a copy via Twitter, which he later self-published into a book.
He loves music, can dance, films, and fashion. Favorite sports teams are the Chicago Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks, and is a Lebron James fan.
