CORPUS CHRISTI -- The candidates for Nueces County sheriff got into a heated exchange at a forum last Wednesday over a two-year-old case involving information that was released to the media about a jail inmate's suicide.

But the sheriff quickly fired back, calling the attack a "lame,"
