CORPUS CHRISTI - Sushi lovers, look no further!
Water Street Restaurants will add another location in the coming weeks, and one familiar face is at the forefront of brand new concepts.
“We’re going to add some cool new stuff. We're going to switch it up,” Danyela Hinojosa said.
Hinojosa helped spearhead Water Street’s sushi program a decade ago through the Del Mar College tuition reimbursement incentive.
Brad Lomax, owner at Water Street Restaurants, said he is proud to staff his kitchen with ambitious Del Mar students.
“You know, when they come out of that Del Mar program, they know how to work in kitchens. They know how to work in restaurants. It's not just a paper degree,” Lomax said.
The Water Street Sushi Room will be housed in the company’s former catering office. Customers will be able to grab gourmet sushi on-the-go.
“More than anything, we just want to keep it simple and do what we do best, which is serve great food to great people in Corpus Christi,” Hinojosa said.
Water Street’s latest business endeavor will add to the roster of hip new spots which attract residents and tourists to the Marina Arts District.
“We’re so excited with the growth. It's been years, even decades since we've seen this kind of momentum downtown,” Richard Lomax said.
The Water Street Sushi Room will be located on the patio between Water Street Oyster Bar and the Texas Surf Museum.
The new attraction is tentatively scheduled to open early April.
