Planned power outage affecting the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi

Posted: Updated:

To better serve the needs of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, AEP has scheduled a planned power outage affecting the University from approximately 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, which is during Spring Break. During the planned outage, AEP will be on site making repairs and performing maintenance.

Due to the widespread power outage, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will be closed for business all day Wednesday, March 14.

Additionally, because Thursday, March 15, and Friday, March 16, are TAMU System-approved holidays to celebrate Spring Break, most University services won’t resume normal operations until Monday, March 19.

The March 14 closure affects all buildings on Ward Island, along with Miramar Housing, the Antonio E. Garcia Arts and Education Building, the Woo Sung Lee Alumni Welcome Center, the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center and the Lonestar UAS Center of Excellence and Innovation. The Art Museum of South Texas is unaffected and will remain open on March 14. Also, Momentum Campus is unaffected by the outage and will remain fully operational.

Campus food services will not be available March 14 due to the power outage.

More information for University employees can be found at www.tamucc.edu.

Special note for student living at Miramar: Please make sure your stove is turned off during the outage to avoid a fire or power surge when the power is restored.
