PORT ARANSAS -

We have more information about a woman who was hit by a truck while she was riding a bicycle in Port Aransas.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon near Alister Street near the Avenue C intersection.

According to Port Aransas Police Chief Scott Burroughs, a Port Aransas resident driving a red Ford F-150 pickup truck hit the woman. When police officers arrived at the scene, they say the woman was breathing but not responsive.

On Monday, Sgt. Mike Hannon, with the Port Aransas Police Department, says he spoke with one of the bicyclist's friends this morning and said the woman should be released from the hospital soon and returning to Austin.

Sgt. Hannon says the woman was diagnosed with a concussion and she should have no long-term adverse effects.
