Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi educators react to news of student's sudden passing

Educators over at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi are reaching out to other students who knew a young man who was killed over the weekend.

Investigators with the Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office say 22-year-old Furkan Beser was killed after his vehicle struck two other vehicles Sunday night.

Educators say Beser was a  senior international student and a Science and Engineering major at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

Ann DeGaish, Associate Vice President of Student Engagement and Success & Dean of Students, stated, “Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is saddened at the news of the sudden passing of our student, Furkan Beser."

"The University Counseling Center is available to assist students who are touched by this tragedy. We send our condolences to Furkan’s family and friends,” DeGaish's statement concluded.
