On Friday, a comeback campaign officially kicked off in Rockport-Fulton. The theme of the campaign is called, 'Find yourself in Rockport-Fulton.' The message is that after nearly seven months of going through a Category 4 hurricane, the town hasn't gone anywhere, and it is coming back strong.
The Chamber of Commerce, business-owners, and community leaders all gathered for the revealing of the campaign.
Sandy Jumper, the Vice President of Marketing and Promotions at the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, was at the reveal. Jumper said the announcement has everyone in the community excited. Despite, being knocked down after Harvey, many people are ready to move forward.
"Across the country, people think we have been totally destroyed," said Jumper. "Yes, we are not completely back to ourselves yet, but we're trying to find ourselves."
Think of the campaign as a big advertisement to get people back to the community.
"There's lots and lots of things to do, so we're not completely down," Jumper said.
There will be billboards, signs, and souvenirs sharing the same message: 'Find yourself in Rockport-Fulton.' Jumper added it's a community-involved campaign, where everyone participates.
A couple of VIP's have also given their support too. Governor Abbott recorded a special announcement for the campaign. King of Country, George Strait, is set to be a voice for the campaign. Lastly, Michael and Susan Dell and Rebuild Texas Fund will also be involved.
All-around efforts are helping the town of Rockport-Fulton achieve the same goal.
"We're all going out collectively, telling the same story," said Ernst. "So everyone's advertising can help everyone."
The Commerce said another phase of the campaign will be announced around Memorial Day.
